The 18U Chicago Hawks took a break from CSDHL league play and walked away undefeated with the CCM Chicago World Invite Championship November 4-6th!

The team has had some challenges early this season with injuries, but the short bench isn’t keeping this team from giving 100% every time they step on the ice! Sno King Jr Thunderbirds (4-2) and Orange County HC (5-0) were up first Friday, followed by NH Jr. Monarchs (5-1) Saturday.

Those 3 W’s took the Hawks to the round of 16 where they let up 1 goal in a 5-1 win against the North Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. Turning back the clock was a big help in the team’s 3-game battle Sunday that started with Team  Philadelphia in the quarterfinals, followed by Stevenson High School (the #1 ranked high school in Illinois) in the semifinals, and finished with a 1-0 win in the Championship against the Texas Tigers! Both teams battled hard for two solid periods before the boys found the back of the net late in the 3rd!  The Hawks spent the last 1:40 fighting off a 6 on 4 and 5 on 4 penalty kill ending the game victorious!

With the support and dedication these players give each other day in and day out, it’s not surprising how the weekend ended! Proud to be a Hawk! Congratulations, Players and Coaches!
