The Hawks 16U and 14U Girls teams played in the Cammi Granato Showcase this past weekend, making memories and winning trophies in a dramatic fashion! Cammi Granato and Kendall Coyne spent time with our girls in the locker room, providing each team with a pre-game talk and inspiration to last a lifetime. They said to "Dream Big," and the Hawks Girls took that to heart as they navigated 6 games each to win the Championship! Many of the girls got individual pictures with Cammi and Kendall and got to hold Kendall's Olympic medals. Kendall even sent the girls a note of congratulations for winning the tournament!

The U16 Girls went into the semi-finals on Sunday morning with a 2-1-1 record. They beat the #3 seed Tampa Bay Lady Lightning in the semi-final Sunday morning to earn a shot at Wisconsin Elite (Western) Sunday afternoon -- a team they had yet to beat in the tourney. The game was tied 2-2 going into a 5-minute OT.  But with no goals being scored, they went into an intense 4-round shootout and.............HAWKS WIN! They went 4-1-1 on the weekend with 24 goals for and 9 against.  

The 14U Girls had a 3-1 record securing the #2 seed going into the Semis. They were down 3-1 to the Wisconsin Elite (Western) in the semifinal game with 10 minutes left in the third period, but they didn't give up. They turned up the heat, scoring 3 goals to lock in their spot for the championship. They had another intense game playing Wisconsin Elite (Northeast), ending regulation in a 1-1 tie. No score in OT meant it was shootout time.  Hawks sealed the win in three rounds with many of the 16U and 12U girls cheering them on! Overall, they went 5-1 on the weekend with 22 goals for and 11 against. 

The girls not only won their division championships, but finished top 2 (out of 14 teams) in the Tournament Standings. Congrats to our Hawks Girls for a stellar weekend!
