NEW OFF-ICE FACILITY AT DARIEN - PLEASE DONATE

The Hawks are very proud to announce that a new off-ice facility will be unveiled soon at the Darien Sportsplex!  We have been working hard all summer on this project and hope YOU CAN HELP!

We all understand the importance of off-ice training for athletes.  But the additional commute for strength training is difficult and, in some cases, makes it impossible for families to participate in this important aspect of training.  After such a difficult year, we couldn’t think of a better way to thank our members for their support than to make our onsite off-ice dreams a reality!

The Board and Hockey Director Steve Poapst have worked with our trainers and Rogue Fitness, Inc., to create a space on the 2nd floor of Darien Sportsplex where our players will increase their strength, mobility, agility, and overall athletic performance and transfer that benefit to the ice.

The 2nd floor conference room (a/k/a the “Chalet Room”) is undergoing a COMPLETE makeover.  At this time, we have set up four racks with benches, plates and barbells, dumbbells, med balls, polymeric blocks, med ball wall, a sled push, cardio tools for circuit training, and more.

Additionally, the room itself has undergone significant upgrades. We have worked hard to create a place that promotes team building and reflects the high level of training that takes place in all aspects of training at the Club. This meant painting, customizing walls with logos, adding mirrored sections and other enhancements we can’t wait to show you!

The room will be used by all levels that participate in off-ice training which, starting this year, includes all squirts through 18U players, Northwest through Central States. All training will be supervised by certified trainers from MFC Sports Performance and Functional Athlete.

We are almost done, but WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!  We are asking the Hawks community to help us complete the project for the upcoming season. Current needs are a new sound system and audio/visual equipment.

Please consider showing your support by making a donation toward these items.  No donation is too small and ALL are appreciated.  We have a fundraising goal of $10,000.  Any amount that we are able to raise beyond that will be used for additional enhancements.

To show our appreciation to those who donate, we are conducting two raffles, one for donations of $25 or greater and one for $50 or greater.  Please click HERE to donate or send your donation to our Venmo account: @chihawks.

If using Venmo, please type "Donation" or "Off-Ice Facility" in the "What's it for?" field.

Anyone who donates $25 or more will automatically be entered into a raffle for a $500 gift card to Pure Hockey and a $500 gift card to ECO Pro Shop.   Anyone who donates $50* or more will be entered into a raffle for a PRIME RESERVED PARKING SPOT at the Sportsplex!

Thank you for supporting our players.  We are proud of the space we have created and can’t wait to see Hawks teams working out together this season!  Questions about donating or about the project itself can be directed to Hawks President Melissa Surrette at President@chicagohawks.com.

*$50 donations will be entered into both raffles but must choose between prizes in the event that you win both raffles.

A special thank you to Ann and Chad Aden for creating the beautiful rendering pictured above to help us visualize our completed project!
